Perhaps disguised as a mysterious way

I'm experimenting neck upwards today. Scarves and lippy and hair envy. Wearing : vintage Lush scarf, Barrym M nail varnish in Gothic Black, Maybelline Lipstick in Fatal Red

It was my day off today and I was up like the lark to head to Nottingham to go and see my best friend. Hello best friend (she'll be reading, no doubt). Shopping was strictly out of the question, since yesterday was an unintentional splurge in Primark - does that sentence actually make sense? More on that later anyway.

I caught the end of Devil Wears Prada yesterday and I'm itching for a hair cut, so the two coincidental factors together leads me to wonder if I'd be able to pull of such an Andrea-fringe. Thick, luscious and very, chic. Watch this space on Monday when I hop for a free hair cut, courtesy of one of my Starbucks regulars. Perk of the job I suppose.

It's been a difficult week. I've been away from the boyf for longer than is usual, I've worked more hours than I can count, and one of my housemates has announced she wants to get a cat. Now I would hate for this blog to turn into a place for venting, but really. I'm no 'mother figure,' but am I the only one who thinks this is a ridiculous idea in such a pig sty student house?

In more upbeat news, the above photo is teasing you with my newest finds. I'll be styling them up over the next few days (especially the paisley, I got some very worried looks when I announced what I'd found), so keep your eyes peeled. xox

  1. I think your hair would look lovely like Andrea's, and I can't wait to see what you've found recently x

  2. Oooh I think I can spot a lovely leopard collar here.. hehe
I think a fringe would be such a good idea, I'm sure it would suit you so well :)
I remember after seeing the devil wears prada for the first time in cinema some years ago, my best friend and I went to get a similar fringe straight after! and well I still have it :D

  3. I love andrea's thick fringe, but fringes are major high maintenance :( Mine is so annoying sometimes. x

  5. Hello best friend! I was about to be all "duuhh her name's Ann Hathaway" but then I realised you were using the character names :) Full steam ahead with the fringe I say! Though that does lead to the horror known as (gasp) gappy fringe! Xxx

  7. I am so anti-fringe. I had one for years and spent all my time washing and drying it. Major pain in the arse.

I like your headscarf very much. I do exactly the same with my Lush scarves and ribbons :)

  12. The scarf looks great! I think you'd look fab with a fringe, I love them but my hair's quite wavy and goes so frizzy when it's wet that i couldn't keep it looking niceso I had to get rid of it.

  15. Oh i like the look of the paisley print! Hope the haircut goes well- i am always a bit scared about going to the hairdresser- i really need to sort it out though as my fringe is a bit of a mess!

I'm with you on the Cat/ Pet front. I can't even remember how many times i've had to veto the pet idea. You just know they're going to dissapear off on Holiday for a month and you'll be left having to remember to buy the cat food x

  18. Oh I love her hair in that movie, im sure it would look so pretty, cant wait to see. Also, cant wait to see your items.
Im a cat person so I'd be happy with one, but if your housemate is not going to put in the time and look after it it's prob not a good idea, I smother my cat with love so she's good, but cats can be so temperamental they need the love or they can go weird. anyway, end rant :)

  20. Cut a fringe, do it! (She says, currently debating on whether or not to keep growing her own own out.) Love that lippy on you!

  21. I think you'd suit a fringe, it's quite difficult to tell without seeing it on you though!
Yeah, a cat in a house that is on the wrong side of pristine is a very bad idea, especially while house-training it and everything...

  22. yikes to the cat and yes to the andrea! i recently did it and i LOVE it (all modesty aside, haha ;))

  24. Thumbs up for the fringe! Fab picture, really loving the green scarf, black nail & red lips combo! I really want to try some red lippy but have no idea what shade would suit me...I'm pretty rubbish at accessories/makeup really, haha!

Oh I agree about the cat thing! I had a hamster in my 3rd year but that was it! Seriously, I can only just afford my two cats & I work full time & get discounts as I'm a vet nurse! As well as the expense, I've seen plenty of cats approaching the age of twenty...such a big responsibility! Sounds like you're the only sensible one in your house! :)

Anyway, look forward to seeing your haul, love the look of that paisley print :)
