Review : Magasin's Gorgeous Cross Stitch Accessories

One of the definite plus sides of being a blogger is the occasional package kindly received through the post. It's a rarity for me to be delighted with freebies which a company rep has thought would suit me and my style, I never thought I'd be on the radar for these sorts of things! Though I'm not one for blindly promoting brands just because they happen to send me stuff (it has to truly excite me to be worth a mention), but I am more than happy to show the love for independent creative geniuses we have who really can't get enough screen time.

One such marvelous lady is Sarah. Not only is she uber talented and based in the North (always a winner in my book), she's been a loyal follower of Jazzpad for some time. So when she contacted me asking if she could send me some of her creations, it didn't take a second for me to say yes. Her cross stitch and embroidery accessories are just up my street - homemade, unique, eye-catching and they suit my style to boot. My favourites have to be these sparrow hair clips, how sweet are they?! I've been wearing my hair up quite a lot lately, you must've noticed my obsession with headscarfs of late, so I can guarantee these will have a lot of wear.

Sarah's wears are sold via her company name Magasin, can be found here on Etsy and also here. She does commissions which is a wonderful idea - what a perfect gift a customised set of clips would be for a friend, I'd have a hard time deciding what I'd pick if I was to go for something truly individual to represent me. I say that - but these anchors are pretty darn close to what I'd ask for!

She's one talented lady, so thankyou incredibly Sarah for sending me these gifts, I adore them :) Big love to the independent crafts people of the North and beyond! As a little thankyou to Jazzpad readers, Sarah is offering a tempting 15% off all items by entering the code 'JAZZPAD15' at the checkout. Lucky beans!

If you are part of a small business or an independent retailer and would like to get in touch, please do drop me a message. I am really keen on promoting smaller creative businesses and though I can't guarantee I would feature you, I'd be so interested to see what you are up to! Please understand I will only feature, whether I receive items to review or not, if it is truly the sort of thing I would wear. Jazzpad is not going to turn into endless promotions - just designers and businesses I love and hope my readers (you guys) would too.

Have you heard about my 22nd May Appeal yet? If your Spring Clean is looming and you like the sound of being involved in a good cause to raise money for Breakthrough Breast Cancer, please take the time to read the appeal and see if you can help. Thankyou all!

  5. Hi Claire

I totally agree with you - if it's stuff you really like and would happy to tell your friends about, then why not blog about it?

In this case I'm really glad you did - what gorgeous stuff she produces! I'm very taken with the green anchor earrings on the etsy site.

  9. Those anchor grips are very sweet! If only I had hair long enough for such things!

I might have some goodies I could throw your way, in the shape of scarves, necklaces and notecards! I'm not sure they're your style but I'd love some feedback on them anyway as I'm thinking of selling them if there's enough interest! Email me at jmathjmath@gmail.com if you'd be interested in receiving a parcel from me.

I wish I could donate to your May Appeal, but I've just given a whole bunch of stuff to charity shops near me and don't have anything left to give!

  10. I love discovering independent companies and businesses, especially talented and crafty people :)
The anchor clips are adorable, and I love the little piece of card they came on too.

Hope you managed to receive the donation okay, I was worried it might get lost in transition! xx
