Sheffield Blogger Meet 26/03/11

I've only met a few bloggers in the flesh, and every time I have done, I've been unnecessarily nervous before hand. Jazmine was even more beautiful and stylish in the flesh and Adele was a wonderful little firecracker who I felt like I'd known for years! This blogger meet, organised by the wonderful Lauren, was no exception. It's such a strange concept for a load of people who've essentially just met on the internet to all meet up in once place and parade around; it's true a few friends IRL (how weird does it feel to use that phrase) were a little freaked out by the prospect. "Are you going to be safe?? Keep your phone on.." etc etc.

I was, in honesty, rather hungover early on Saturday morning, but nevertheless I dragged myself out of my bed and went to the meeting point at Sheffield station. God knows what the gaggle of us must've looked like (one guy shouted "Women's army" at us!) but with a fairly large group there was only one real possibility for how to spend the day. PITCHERS.

Here we all are looking a little nervous a mere 10 minutes after meeting. Bless, the old lady who took the photo missed off Brydon, oops! And where is Helen?! From left, Dione, Chloe, Emily, Lizzy, Nicoletta, meee, Maxine, HaideeClaireKate, and of course Lauren at the front. All of which you should go and have a gander at, they are all lovely ladies in the flesh and their blogs/channels are wonderful reads. Especially Lauren, whose post of the days activities are in much greater detail than mine!

Here we all are responsibly drinking. Ahem. Nicoletta I'm looking at you with your vodka redbull at half past twelve in the afternoon! This lot were really wonderful. I especially felt like I'd known Nicoletta, Emily, Helen and Lauren for ages, but if we'd've played musical chairs during lunch I'd've got chatting more with other people too. Kudos to the Geordie lot for making such a long journey down!

Do check out their blogs because they're a truly lovely lot. Many of them are beauty bloggers which isn't my realm whatsoever, coming from the girl who's never bought proper foundation in her life, but it was fun to mix with people from all backgrounds and interests. We did all have something in common, and it is this love for our blogs and the communities it inspires which makes it all worth it. Aaw shucks.

I'm thinking of organising a Summer Blogger Meet, potentially in Birmingham, since that seems to be pretty central for the most part of you who are both North- and South-based, plus it's a real cosmopolitan city with lots of lovely places to go. If we met on a Saturday, I'm thinking Digbeth vintage flea market and then a giant trip to Warehouse Cafe - the tastiest vegetarian restaurant in the country! Who likes the sound of this? xox

P.S. Going to get my ring re-sized on Saturday! Aaah! :D
