Trew Love

I'm putting an outfit post disclaimer right out there. This week has been spent working on a Literature Review for my Research Proposal to do with perceptions of rural identity, so forgive me for not a) posting more promptly b) making sense or c) my outfit posts being shocking. This week just isn't my priority, y'know? I know you'll understand. Regardless...

I've found the time (what a surprise) to drool over some darn stylish ladies rocking the interesting pant. I don't want to say 'pant'. I'm not American. It's just 'trouser' sounds so dull and beige and granny-esque - but not in that cool granny chic Alexa Chung sort of way. I'll go for 'trew.'

Granted I've had my eye on patterns and prints of late, but I couldn't resist posting this number four ensemble. It's a combination I would never have put together for mixing odd colours and yet it works perfectly. Those red shoes are just the cherry on the icing on the cake. That's a triple-layered confectionary wonderness people.

Either way, I'm loving the confidence that is needed when rocking the patterned bottom-half. It's a little surprise when I'm usually one for keeping my midrift down as plain as possible. I don't really like getting the once over so keeping the focal point from the waist up is my strategy. But I could deal with the up-and-down stare if I could pull off any of these. For the time being, I'll prance around in my room, eating mini eggs by the cartload and wishing it was July.

How do you wear your patterned trews? I'm still collecting questions for my Q&A, so if any spring to mind, about me, my style, my course, anything don't be shy folks xox

  2. you look great in your pattern trousers, they really suit. I recently bought a pair of patterned trews from H&M and I like to wear them with a plain tee and denim or leather jacket. I find the hardest thing to pair them with is shoes because i think they look great in heels but when im on my feet working for 8 hours a day heels aren't a option

  4. haha, i'm definitely going to be using the word trews from now on - you're so right about trousers. It sounds way too work-man esque.

I rarely wear print on my bottom half, in fact, i rarely wear it at all. But when I do it's usually leopard or crazy florals.

I love your outfit though, it's bold without being garish, and the patterned trews really suit you!

  12. LOVE this outfit! those trousers are flipping amazing!

Thank you for my comment :) I don't have any particular brands that I use, whatever's cheap usually! haha. And all of my untensils have been christmas presents so far :) You can get a lot of great stuff in hobbycraft but it's pretty pricey! I've noticed you can buy most things online a lot cheaper!

    Hope you're well lovely! xx
