Some things look better inside of the store

Undoubtedly, this looks very edible, right? WRONG.

Sadly, despite the attention to detail since it was Liam's birthday (and coming close to chopping the ends of my fingers off numerous times trying to halve the maltesers) you'll be able to tell that it's not the height of a normal cake. No idea why. We followed the recipe perfectly and even increased the ingredients by a third to account for wider tins, but no.

My baking masterpieces the lemon curd cupcakes are as yet not succeeded. If at first I don't succeed, I will try again, because I love Maltesers.

In the wake of a sad looking flat cake - let's be honest, it was nothing more than a biscuit - I'll leave you in the capable hands of Peter, Bjorn & John. They have written more songs than that annoying whistle one (you know the one I'm talking about). xox

  1. I love Malteaser cake! I always find that the cake goes a bit crazy when you add the Malteasers, I guess it's a matter of trial and error :(

My cakes always come out pancake-flat. I do not have the knack for baking it seems.
