Foot Prep

These are my beautiful new granny sandals I found on eBay for less than a fiver last week. I fell in love with them on the listing, and I love them even more in the flesh. They're just lovely. Tatty enough not to worry about getting scuffed; supportive enough so that I won't let my M&S loyalty down; and stylish enough to tick the granny chic/nautical trend simultaneously.

The problem therein lies my feet. Which, from having a job which requires being stood up and on the go throughout my shifts, means I have the most HORRIBLY DRY and cracked feet. They don't get enough TLC from me, unfortunately, and therefore I can't bring myself to wear these sandals without socks just yet. I daren't even post a photo of my heels on this blog, for fear of making you throw up your bank holiday banquets. For now, this will have to suffice.
And yes, those are my feet, wrapped in clingfilm and then hidden in a nest of supermarket carrier bags. I slathered my feet with Heel Genius, my latest purchase from Soap & Glory, wrapped 'em up, and watched three reruns of Vicar of Dibley before I remembered I should probably take the carrier bags off. An hour or so later, my feet are soft, supple, and rather chilly. All the more reason to paint my toenails and hide under the duvet for another couple of hours to warm up, right?

What are your plans this bank holiday? Almost certainly more exciting than mine I'm sure. Who cares, bank hols are meant to be relaxed. xox

  9. Love your new sandals! I keep thinking I must buy some but the weather is so vile at the moment its hard to believe it'll be nice enough for sandals any time soon. Gotta love pampering sessions...bet you've got beautiful feet now! I'm spring cleaning & attempting to de-clutter this bank holiday :)

p.s. No probs about the vegetarianism email, was happy to help! Just hope I didn't embarrass myself with bad spelling/grammar, was feeling pretty brain-dead that afternoon haha :)

  15. LOVE your new shoes! Very Chloe-esque. I'm craving new sandals but I'm quite fussy and haven't seen anything this nice yet. Also, not sure how much wear I will get out of them this summer... x

  16. Haha what a fantastic way to get your feet back to lovely status! I might have to give that a try when the time rolls around that I have to part with my socks and leggings.
    Not yet though!

  17. The sandals are very nice! I like the colour, especially.
Does the plastic bag foot treatment actually work? I too have hideous feet due to being on my feet for around 9 hours a day non-stop and me being a little too lazy about TLC, not looking forward to sandal season!

  21. Oh i hear you clare! Vaseline works wonders too. Slathered on and bagged and then repeat with your cream.

I'm looking for wonderful sandals too and they're so hard to find. These are just perfect.

  22. Its such a coincidence that I would find this post now because I was moisturizing my feet last night because they're all dry, think I need to try out the whole plastic bag thing! Hope it actually works, I'm debating going to one of those fish spas to get nibbled haha. Love the shoes, what a bargain!
