Assemblage

If you're anything like me, you'll know how tricky it is to find a home for all of those scraps of memories, be it train tickets, photos, flyers, love notes, letters, postcards... anything which doesn't really have the significance to pin on a wall to have framed becomes forgotten under the bed or in a top drawer somewhere. And it wasn't until I really fell in love with Ebony's scrapbooking skillz (and my god is that girl amazing at putting a beautiful montage together) when I thought hmm, I can find a home if I look hard enough.

I don't claim that any of these are particularly good, I'm only just starting, but it's a mish mash of me and things I have done and places I have been. Brings a smile to my face to say the least.

All you need is a book. You might not even look in it that often - and perhaps then when you do all the memories will come flooding back even more fondly than if you did see it every day - but to keep everything together and use that bit of creativity in the process is a lovely thing. Give it a go if you have half an hour! xox

P.S. The Midland Blogger Meet is TOMORROW! So frigging excited I cannot tell you. Keep your searches on #brumbloggermeet over the weekend for twitter updates, and prepare yourself to be bombarded with a full account of what we get up to on Sunday night!

  3. Ah scrapbooking! I'm a total devotee of this as well, it's just so nice to have things to look at to remind you of people, places, times etc. And them being wrapped up in a beautiful book just makes the experience all the nicer :)

  6. These are lovely, I'm so bad at arranging things. I prefer the messier look but mine would just turn out all neat or too try-hard.

  15. I am a long time fan of the humble scrapbook. It never fails to amaze me what can be created with a bit of pritt stick and a pair of scissors and then go onto serve as a fond collection of memories and inspiration for a lifetime to come.

I don’t think I could ever part with any of my scrapbooks, I love each and everyone, even the ones plastered with all my teenage boy band crushes!
It was so nice to see you kept my letter xxx

  16. Love this! Am planning to start something similar with magazine cuttings as an 'inspiration' type scrapbook, but like the idea of incorporating personal bits too!
