Darling, we've got to talk, I feel like a hawk

Hasn't it been absolutely BEAUTIFUL weather lately?! I can't quite believe I've been getting my legs out and wearing strapless playsuits in October. Silly. I've been back home this weekend dog-sitting while my parents are away (Rufus loves me even more when I'm the one who feeds him, funny that), and making the most of this gorgeous climate taking him out and about. I love living out in the sticks, you carry on down my road and all you can see for miles are hay bales lined up making linear boundaries between the fields. It's pretty lovely.

This is what I wore on Friday for an opening event with my old placement folk. It was really great to see some familiar faces, I do miss that lot. Bit of a faff trying to find a frock that would tick the summer box, be smart enough and not to show off my tattoo for all to see. I love my tatt, don't get me wrong. But there's a time and a place, right?

Dress - Joy
Belt - Primark
Loafers - New Look

This dress was the product of some serious shopping under pressure. I had about an hour to find something appropriate, went in pretty much every clothes shop in Sheffield city centre and it was only on the bus home when I had resigned myself to the likelihood of wearing a boring shirt/trouser combo that I hopped off the bus and found this beauty staring at me in the Joy window. Never disappoints, does Joy.

Do you think if most of us will it to stay sunny hard enough it will do? Another week? Another day....? xox

  1. oh i know about the tattoo issue, i always worry cos i work with kids and i have one in the same spot as you!! its kinda hard to cover in that area sometimes, especially cos i love sheer stuff so much (and i know you do to). the dress is gorgeous though, still fun and cute but definitely appropriate

Lovely photos, especially the last one - reminds me of being back living in the countryside : )

  16. It hasn't even lasted a day here! It's been chucking it down all day and the forecast seems set for more rain, then to start getting cold again. Oh well, it was nice while we had it.
