50 years young

What makes a good party? Yummy food? A glitterati dress code? Shocking photos of your Dad with a caterpillar moustache? Well, all of that helps (particularly the 50 chocolate and vanilla cupcakes made by The Best Friend which disappeared sharpish), but ultimately, it's all about the cake people.

On Saturday night we managed to hoodwink my parents into going out for "a meal," and then making a sharp turn into a local hall bedeckled with fairy lights and balloons, full of local friends, old friends, neighbours and family. I'd been stewing about it for weeks, but ultimately it was a cracking night and well worth the sleepless nights worrying if I'd bought enough clingfilm.

Phew! Now I can go back to worrying about other stuff, namely fixing my relationships which have been stretched by my contagious stress, and uni assignments. No rest for the wicked, as they say. Oh, should also mean I'm blogging more (yay).
