Cheap Frills

I love small online businesses! Big Cartel has paved the way for so many independents over the past few years, and here is another one I discovered via Twitter. Cheap Frills are based in Brighton so quite far away from Sheffield - but the magic of the tinterweb means that distance is no obstacle.

Black loafers - Internacionale
Striped tea dress - H&M
Oversized grey jumper - H&M
Black satchel - H&M (I should be an ambassador)
Monochrome spotted hair bow - vintage

This summer I predict a nautical theme emerging in my wardrobe. It's definitely a trend which gets picked up on every year, and I'm a massive boating fan so any excuse to feel that little bit closer to getting out on yacht (in my dreams, this poor, poor year) makes me slightly more optimistic.

I chose this anchor to tie in with my "pregnant sailor" look yesterday. Sounds desperately ominous and it wasn't exactly a look I was going for, but hey, with baggy jumpers suitable for massive hangover lunches (i.e. a fat day), and stripes, that's pretty much what I achieved. In the most wonderful, stylish way, you understand.

I really liked the detailing around the top, the rope is a nice change from so many other simple anchor & chains around at the moment. Aside from the nautical-ness, they've got a fab array of fox-inspired cameo necklaces and rings, which are just lovely too. I especially like the ones with the little ears on the left, how sweet?

Found here, here and here

And lucky for you they've got a 20% discount throughout January for you all, if you enter JAN20 at the checkout. Yippee! If you were having a craving for a splurge on jewellery this week, take the moral high ground and support the smaller businesses like this one if you can, it's definitely worth it!

  1. lovely! Ive just had a look on their site and the picture they use seems to have a smaller chain than the one you have- have you used your own chain?
