I've got a photo-fit mind, but I'm a first rate forgetter

I am mere seconds away from listening to Maximo Park's new album after I've done this blog post (I need my full concentration to absorb it properly), and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little apprehensive. There have been so many of my favourite bands lately who have produced miserably mediocre albums, Maximo Park's last attempt one of them (soz Paul). I almost want to implore them to split up and let their genius debuts not be dilluted! Almost... Though I do quite like MP's new track Hips and Lips. But it's no Graffiti.

Music aside, here's what I've been wearing lately. T-shirt and jeans, not particularly ground-breaking but I was inspired by Maria to show off that I often live in my skinnies. I don't know if my relatively un-fashion-y wardrobe is reflecting my whole "meh" mood about blogging lately. I've been fiddling with layouts and getting more readers and more things to post about than ever before, but I dunno. It's tricky when you get into a rut isn't it? I'm going to try and shake things up a bit. After all, I shall post what I damn well like - skinny jeans, my docs and a t-shirt is unashamedly ME, sometimes.

Doc Martens - c/o Bank
Black skinny jeans - Primark
Grey vest - Birdy's Boutique
Tortoiseshell sunglasses - H&M
Feather necklace - c/o Little Nell

What is special about my outfit is the lovely feather necklace from Little Nell, the third in the sequence of indie jewellers I've been featuring lately. Penny was kind enough to send me some treasures along to review (more to come next week) and I really like this one in particular. It's just the sort of necklace I'd wear at a festival, which makes me incredibly nostalgic for Glastonbury this time last year!

Now I'm only working part time I'm getting the chance to spend a lot more time with my Mum, which is awesome. On Wednesday we're going to Lincolnshire Show which for the city folk amongst you is basically a massive agricultural rally selling and showing off everything countryside and farm related. Everyone brings their dogs along and since I was brought up right in the middle of the Lincolnshire countryside this annual event means a lot to me, and makes me very nostalgic for my childhood. I'll be bombarding you with lots of pictures of fudge stalls and sheepdog trials, no doubt!

Have a lovely week darlings!

  8. anything with dogs invited gets the aok from me, love those fluffy guys. i'm never been a fan of MP at all to be honest, never quite got it but i've heard that song a couple of times and i don't mind it. it's on at work so it's been drilled into me.

you're thinking too much about your layout man, chill out. clearly if you're getting more readers and you like the posts there's nothing to worry about. i wouldn't mind a few more readers to tell you the truth

  9. I am ashamed to call myself a Maximo Park fan because I haven't heard their new song yet. Or their new album :( But I definitely agree that in recent years they have gone steadily a little bit dare I say off their rockers and not the same old maximo I used to know and love. I love the fact that you embracing jeans, makes me finally feel a little better when I pull out yet another tshirt and jeans combo of my wardrobe every morning (; xx

  11. I have tickets to see Maximo Park in Manchester :) remember seeing them in first year uni and so many memories of dancing to them in grotty indie discos. Acrobat, what a song and the first album just sums up being 18 xx

I completely get the rut thing, that's virtually how I started out!
