Summer in the city

...means flags, flags and more flags, it seems. When I was in London this week with my brother I was soon dreaming about union jacks, I saw so many of them! This is a selection of the best snaps from my weekend away, where we sauntered around Covent Garden in the sunshine, had a stroll down the Mall before the crowds got there, ate too much icecream, pulled silly sugar-rush faces (I've been likened to Nemo and ET in that picture), oh yeah, and SAW COLDPLAY!

Ok ok, so I wasn't entirely bothered about them; my Mum bought me tickets for Christmas I was mildly deflated - without wanting to sound ungrateful I've seen them twice before at spectacular shows and I don't rate their new album at all. But I'll eat my hat because they were fantastic.

We do pageantry so well in Britain, don't we? I've never felt so patriotic, and it has warmed my heart seeing all of your street parties, cupcakes and even celebratory nail DIYs as homage to our Maj. God save the Queen indeed (and if you don't follow her on twitter, what are you playing at?) xox
