You were light and paper thin

Morning cherubs! It's the day of the #bloggersinbrum meet hurrah! In all honesty I'd only realised at the start of the week that it was this weekend, so I am totally unprepared. Still haven't packed. What to wear? Gah.

You know when there is a trend that bloggers pick up on waaaaaaaay before magazines do? I'm not talking about me - I've only just hopped on this bandwagon! It's always quite exciting when that happens (or frustrating, depending on whether you're in on it or not). I'm still seeing these pleated leather skirts cropping up in magazines in only last month's issues, whereas they have been HUGE in the blogging world since... November last year? I remember posts about this elusive Primark version at least 6 months ago. Granted it's more of a winter piece but I'd been itching to get my hands on one (leather obsession ftw) and I finally did. It slots in rather well with the rest of my wardrobe, I just have to make sure Sarah and I aren't twinnies in ours tonight ha!

Heeled chelsea boots - H&M
Pleated leather skirt - Primark via eBay
Black sheer shirt - Primark
Striped cropped jumper - Urban Outfitters
Coraline inspired necklace - c/o Sawyer & Scout

To add to the monochome, gothic sort of look, I finished off my outfit with this amazing Coraline-inspired necklace Erin sent me from her shop - Sawyer & Scout. I absolutely loved the film and though it obviously harks back to the story complete with buttons, a key and a creepy looking skeleton hand, it isn't obvious enough to be tacky or unwearable. She also stocks other film-inspired pieces including Hunger Games and Harry Potter jewellery, so it's definitely worth having a look if you're a film buff or like to have references in your outfits!

Right - I should really pack! Enjoy your weekends lovelies!

  7. I love this look with all my little, gothic heart. I have a UO pleated leather skirt but it just doesn't seem to sit as nicely as the Primark one does on people. I may have to take a leaf out of your book and hunt one down on eBay. Hope you have fun at the meet, lovely ♥
