Christmas at Next

Going to a press day for a season 6 months ahead is a bit like having jetlag. You know it's worth it for the sake of a good time, but it does leave you feeling a little thrown at the end, when after cooing over reindeer print and baubles you leave the venue and it's blazing sunshine and everyone is wearing shorts. It's a good thing the Christmas event for Next, showcasing their Winter collections, were sparky enough to get me in the festive spirit.

Next have been brand which, over the past couple of years, have really engaged with the blogging community. I am so impressed with this, not only for my own benefit, but for you guys. It demonstrates they're a forward-thinking fashion house who value the feedback from you lot, so I will always, always, have time for Next. Not to mention the collection was stunning, as you'll soon see.

Here are a few snaps from the day, see if you can spot the breathtakingly beautiful Arizona Muse and Jourdan Dunn on the catwalk! Eek!

The theme of the collection I enjoyed the most was embellishment, glitter, sequins, and all things glamourous. Gothic lace combined with luxurious velvet; Next are experts at grown-up sophistication, with a wearable, on-trend edge. It's the sort of retailer you and your Mum would both be happy to shop in. You with the studded wedges and glittery flatforms (LOVE), and Mum with her fairaisle knits and floral blazers. Which are, thinking about it, interchangable in my household. She's a trendy one, is my Mummy.

A big thankyou to Ellie, Gemma, and the rest of the ladies and gents responsible for holding such a great event. Roll on Spring Summer 13 – if you can think that far ahead!

  6. Wow, what a great collection. I love all the embellishments too, especially on that last jumper! I completely agree that Next is usually a Mumsy shop. However, I have certainly picked up some great accessories in there and I also love the home stuff xx
