So on Tuesday night - after an immeasurably exciting day on set helping Next shoot a top-secret video - we went and ate burritos.

In my experience, running around any city for the day requires a multitude of sartorial essentials.
Most importantly, comfy shoes are an absolute MUST-HAVE. I first visited London years ago with my parents on a weekend city break, and soon learnt that the tube acting as a means of saving you walking is a LIE. Yes, it saves you from falling off kerbs (a recurring hazard of mine), but I was not told about the endless escalators, queuing, not being able to find a seat, and the general substitution of walking above ground, to standing up, below ground.
My converses solve the sole problem. I don't really see them as trainers because even though they are, admittedly, acceptable in gyms (tried and tested), I deem them as smart enough to wear with jeans and not whiff of chav. Au contraire, my black pair I've owned since I was 14 still have Maximo Park lyrics scribbled on the sides in green gel pen. Can't get more Indie than that, really.
I realise that for many of you London dwellers this post might sound like old news. You guys walk our capital's streets (not like that) like pros. But I'm a Northerner. And I am used to hills and off-roading. Not so much crowded pavements and taxi drivers refusing to talk to me.
Kate's doing awesomely too, if you were interested. And of course I knew she would.
P.S. I've been featured on Planet Notion today in an interview!
