Affordable fashion gets a makeover!

It's been rather... 'fashionable' lately to promote an online retailer as trend-savvy at super affordable prices, often influenced heavily by designer ranges but with student friendly prices. I'm looking at you, Lita-lookalikes. ASOS were the pioneers of this, closely followed by Missguided, Lavish Alice and Boohoo, to name a few.

Boohoo has gone against the grain with its new Boutique collection, available online. With a slightly higher price tag - though never more than £70, which, even for a meagre income, still won't break the bank - Boohoo is challenging the expectation of a fast-fashion retailer with these beautiful pieces which would definitely warrant a space in your wardrobes all year round

The new collection is clearly Baroque-inspired, with luxurious fabrics, 1920s influences and oodles of shine. It's got quite a Christmas, party season feel to it, but still young enough to be wearable and not too sophisticated.

My favourite piece in the whole collection is the Amelia Biker (oh hi leather lapels). It's exactly the sort of jacket I'm throwing on for work, over a chunky knit and a pair of tapered trousers. Other lovely pieces I'll be pinning include the Hallie embroidered dress and Belle prom skirt - lush!

You can check out the whole range here - which is your favourite piece?

  1. The collection looks pretty awesome, really love the biker jacket x

  2. Was so excited when I saw a preview email about this. I think all igh street stores will move this way soon, offering a small, upmarket capsule collection is a great idea. I think the price is fine for a special party dress x
