Why don’t you sit right down and stay awhile?

Happy Sunday lovelies! I've had a tough week, my Great-Grandad died on Friday after a few years struggling with ill health. As guilty as I feel saying it, I wasn't expecting to feel as distraught as I actually am. He reached an amazing age of 93, and was much more a part of my Dad's life than mine. I was much more concerned for my Dad and my Grandma, but you can prepare yourself as much as you want - a death in the family is always going to hurt regardless. It's made us all toughen up a bit and though I don't think it's quite sunk in that the Top Dog in our family isn't here any more (and won't ever threaten to beat up the boys I brought home, true story) there are so many of us to stand together and keep each others' spirits up.

As much as everything else feels immeasurably trivial right now in comparison, I'd prepared this post earlier in the week, so it would be a shame not to share it.

Jacket - Primark
Cream peter pan collar shirt - Joy
Polka dot trousers - Primark
Black flats - H! by Henry Holland, c/o Debenhams

This is what I wore to work earlier in the week to a meeting. It's unfortunate that right now my bun is a different colour to the rest of my hair. It's really mine, honest! My favourite part of this outfit is the jacket, which from Primark is an absolute FIND! It's not dissimilar from a Zara version I spotted a month or so ago, working with my strategy to only buy stuff in Primark, that doesn't look like it's from Primark.

  6. I'm so sorry to hear about your Great Grandad Claire. It's terrible to lose a family member, even when they've lived to such a good age. I lost all three of my great grandparents within the last three years while I was at uni, in fact my great nan died the day before our first #brumbloggermeet Even though they were all 89 when they passed away, I really thought they would always be around. I hope you're doing okay and if you ever need anyone to talk to, I'm only a tweet or email away!

On a lighter note, I really love that jacket and I can't believe it's Primark! They've been coming up with some right gems recently.. I need to have a proper look around! xx

  7. Oh Claire, sorry to hear your news <3 <3 losing any family member is a very distressing time, one does always think that grandparents/great grandparents etc are going to be around forever and ever. Sounds like you have a great support network around you though.
(and fab outfit, Primark is really coming up trumps for Autumn) xxx
