There's four new colours in the rainbow

This weekend has mainly involved car hunting. On Thursday my faithful KA finally croaked, so I'm desperately hunting for a replacement. If anyone has any suggestions of cheap motors that aren't rust buckets, please get in touch. I know this isn't a motoring blog but needs must; does anyone own a C2?

Military platform boots - Next
Camouflage jacket - ASOS Marketplace
Velvet dress - c/o Oh My Love

Onto the outfit post, which is decidedly military today. I love anything and everything oversized, so when this camou jacket was half price on ASOS marketplace, I couldn't refuse! Liam has now nick-named me Benchley, and will shout "GET YOUR ASS OVER HERE BENCHLEY" in a booming army voice at any opportunity. The dress is courtesy of Oh My Love, it's been a popular choice with quite a few bloggers lately! I think I love it mostly because the velvet feel reminds me of being little again. I'm one for nostalgia. And these delicious boots are my latest pride and joy. They're from Next and they'd been top of my wishlist ever since press day last year.

I'm planning my 2005 post after spending a good couple of hours chatting with Eloise and Gem about that era of music mid-noughties. It might not be very memorable for most, but it was a definitive turning point for me, and falling in love with bands such as the Cribs, the Hives, Mystery Jets and Maximo Park really did shape who I am today. And if you're not into the philosophical crap, there will definitely be some throwback myspace photographs to look forward to.

Happy Sunday!

  5. Sorry to hear about your Ka! Mine is on it's last legs now so I've just decided to replace it when it's completely dead! But I've been looking at cars in the meantime... I think I'm going for a Mazda mx5 or possibly a Mini but cheaper alternatives are the current Fiestas as they are releasing a new shape soon, VW Polo or look at Ford Pumas. Cheap to insure & they are fairly cool looking! Good luck!

  11. We don't have a C2 but my parents have a C1 and a C3 and they're great cars. Even the tiny C1 which I like to refer to as the Lego car (because of the cute plasticness of the inside!) Is great for fuel and surprisingly sturdy. I can't drive yet but my parents think they're great, hence they bought the C3 after loving the C1! We've done quite a few longish journeys in it as well, it's not just for running around in.
Gorgeous jacket, I got the Topshop army jacket that the whole worlds got but haven't been able to wear it much because its so chilly!
And don't worry about talking about boring things, I've been doing the thrilling job of painting a flat for the last few weekends; middle age definitely setting in!

  13. Also looking forward to your music post; I was actually at the same Maximo Park concert in Manchester as Gem but haven't gotten around to doing a post yet because I've run out of photo space and need to find out a way of uploading without paying Google for the privilege!

  17. no car advice nope, but hopefully someone can shed some light. ahh yessir, The Hives were top notch. 03/05 was a great time for me, finding my feet (well mostly in dirty indie clubs) and traveling a lot. loved it.
