Fox + Feather | Bristol

Fox + Feather BristolFox + Feather Bristol

If you're Bristol-based you might have wandered past or seen Lyzi blog about Fox + Feather on Gloucester Road last year, and ever since I've been dying to visit! Bristol is quite some distance from my native Sheffield, but it's not too difficult to get to from Birmingham and Liam's neck of the woods, plus many of my blogging lovelies reside not too far away.

As luck would have it, a couple of months ago I got a tweet from owner and Nicest Person Ever Clare asking about PR, so it was the perfect excuse to pop down and check out her beautiful store.

If you're a long-time reader of my blog you will know just how much I love supporting independent retailers, flying the flag for entrepreneurs across Sheffield and beyond. And I found Clare's story incredibly inspirational.

With buying and retail experience for the likes of Uniqlo (my favourite!) under her belt, Clare opened Fox + Feather when she was 8 months pregnant!! I still think that was a pretty insane move, but she's clearly unflappable and with the help of her small team has created a shopping haven full of quirky concession brands and pieces you wouldn't find in your standard high street store. The store has been met with national acclaim - scoring a well-deserved Highly Commended Award at Drapers Fashion Awards 2012 no less, in her first year!

I've picked out a few of my favourite pieces from the Fox + Feather online store, but if you're in the area it really is worth popping down to say hello and have a browse.

Hopefully Clare and I will be working together lots this year with the launch of a rather exciting new brand. It's all hush hush at the moment but what's more, they have a fashion blog which I may well be guest blogging on over the next few months, so watch this space!
