Twinwood Festival with Vintage Life Magazine

Twinwood Vintage FestivalTwinwood Vintage

I think last Sunday has stolen the title for the best Sunday of 2013, so far! I was honoured to be invited to Twinwood Vintage Festival for the day to blog and street style snap for Vintage Life magazine. There is so much about that sentence to be gleeful about - a free festival, a vintage day out, a chance to blog for one of my favourite magazines in the UK? Check check check!

Be warned - this blog post is photo heavy!

From vintage cars to reworked millinery, there was so much to see I think next year I'll need a 3 day pass just to get around the place! I happened across three very dapper young chaps (steady, ladies), and took so many candid shots of tattooed ladies I don't think my camera knew what hit it.

Twinwood is unlike any festival I've been to before. Demographic aside (we were definitely the youngest, by a far few decades), the whole atmosphere was relaxed, upbeat, and decidedly 1940s. Highlight of the day was definitely the retro girl band, the Tootsie Rollers. If you haven't seen them perform live before, you are missing a treat! They did a modern, family-friendly version of Blurred Lines, Pussycat Dolls (dontcha wish your girlfriend could bake like me?), and golly, if it didn't make me want to deck my hair out in victory rolls, I don't know what could!

Thank you to Rosie, Mel, and everyone at Vintage Life magazine for inviting me along to see such a spectacular show. It was the highlight of my summer and I'm already planning my weekend next year!

  4. This look ace Claire, and looks like it's similar to size in the one I went to a couple of weeks ago. Small festivals rock right? I'd love to go to this one, cars, hot tattooed women and proper dancing, I need no more than that!

Great post, share your magazine content if you're allowed too.

  5. those chaps are looking pretty dapper. This looks right up my street although I finds the look hard to pull off, I'm way too lazy to set my hair and I look pants in red lippy... Rosie is super fun to hang out with isn't she? xx
