Laura Ashley SS14 | #LAbestinshow
Last week I took an afternoon off work and headed down to London for what seems like a million and one press days. Fitting in 4 in one afternoon felt like quite an achievement - and my feet were hating me at the end of it, I tell you!
First on my travels was a trip to Laura Ashley's SS14 preview, using the hashtag #LAbestinshow. Needless to say, it was all incredibly picture perfect, a beautiful blend of nautical stripes, hay bales for sunny picnics, and the sweetest pastel satchels...
To think Laura Ashley is bringing out more occasion wear is an exciting thought. This taste of tweed, pink and lace is characteristically LA, but still nods to the trends of this year, and with wedding season approaching for a few of my mates - I wouldn't rule it out!
What I loved the most about this preview was the news that they're bringing back archive prints in an updated collection. I'm not sure whether this has been done before, but I love the notion that a frock well-loved in the 70s might be reworked for the younger generations. Me and my Mum do love similar prints but our choice of cut is a million miles apart - maybe this will appeal to us both!
What do you think anyway? It's only a sneaky peak but there are certainly a few pieces I have my eye on for next Spring!
