#ASOSSwapShop

#ASOSSwapShop day out

I'm a part of the ASOS Insider Programme (which you can enter too!), and a week or so ago I was invited to ASOS headquarters for a Swap Shop event! Now, I'm certainly a fan of updating my wardrobe at any opportunity, but a competing against other stylish bloggers to grab the cream of the crop would make anyone nervous.

Would the elbows come out and the claws be sharpened? With rails full of quality vintage and ASOS gems up for grabs, you might think so!

You'll be surprised to hear everyone was incredibly well behaved! We were instructed to bring up to three items of well-loved but good quality clothing, which would be hung on the rails complete with a handwritten tag detailing size, brand and styling tips.

When I wasn't cradling Ernie, House of Jam's miniature dash puppy (see above), it was great to meet the ASOS Marketplace team, and hear some really inspirational talks from Mod Dolly's Amy about how to set up a fashion brand.

The bottom picture shows my swap picks, a vintage lace shirt and two tailored trousers from ASOS' sample archives. I really enjoyed the day - it was inspirational to hear how you can start from scratch with an ASOS Wardrobe and turn it into a business. It sounds like it takes a lot of blood, sweat and tears, but in the 9-5 cogs of the working world, having that extra bit of ambition to achieve something different is rare.

  6. I love swap shops (though I've only ever attended one) they're such a great way to get some exciting new pieces that aren't things currently on the highstreet!
