OOTD | The Ironic Jumper

Leopard print jumper, patent platform boots and Next leather rucksack | fashion blogger outfit post

A printed jumper might not be to everyone's taste, sure, but I can bet 99% of you wouldn't have told me you hate it to my face. Last week, wearing this sweater (which I bloody love, I should point out) some guy thought it appropriate to "chat me up" by using my terrible taste in knitwear as hilarious ammunition. Needless to say, he didn't get my number.

I will wear a roaring leopard with pride, thank you very much.

Patent platform boots - Matalan
Slouchy black trousers - H&M
Leopard print jumper - c/o Dresslily (similar)
Snakeskin rucksack - c/o Next

It was that experience with knobby waiter boy which made me think about why I would care what anyone else thinks about my wardrobe. I know the majority of you won't dress to impress the opposite sex (for me, it's more of a fuzzy feeling when a girl says she likes what I'm wearing) but it just reinforces my intention to wear what the hell I like, regardless of "trends". Trends only influence what you can buy - not how you 'should' wear it.

I wrote about Mr Gugu & Miss Go jumpers a few months ago on here, and my new one via Dresslily was definitely worth the wait. It's a boyish fit and - oh I hadn't even noticed! - adds to my growing collection of leopard print. Some things never change.

Speaking of predictable outfit posts - I've got a new rucksack! This leather one from Next is the perfect size for taking out (y'know, big enough to fit your beer money in) and has a lovely touch of snakeprint on the tassles. How very grown up!

  1. I love, love your boots. I have non patent lookalikes from New Look. They are perfect for trundling through the countryside, without looking too mud splattered. I wonder what would happen if I wore this to work... I might clash with the C18th art and architecture I work within! Check out my blog, and see if you think I could get away with it

  5. I'm all over printed sweaters although I do always feel weird when there's an animals mouth covering my stomach.

I so agree with your comment about trends only being an influence on what you can buy, not what you *should* buy.

  7. I love the jumper but I love those slouchy trousers even more so! I need them in my life! Were they a recent H&M purchase?

  8. I love jumpers with tigers and lions on- it adds a bit 'more' to an outfit and they're just so much more interesting!
