I love a challenge, me. Particularly when it means I get to spend the afternoon playing dress up, like this weekend, courtesy of McArthurGlen's #ColourMeHappy challenge!
A surprise parcel landed on my desk and a note attached reading "style how you wish, 3 ways!" Inside, this pair of lovely two-tone brogues from Hobbs, and a Fossil satchel in electric blue. Subtle colours, but definitely brights.
Here's how I styled them...
Look 1: Feeling blue Now this is stretching back into the Jazzpad archives! I've had this tartan playsuit for years, it's an old COW gem from back when I was wearing more vintage. Every Autumn when they tights come out I wonder about selling it... and then try it on and fall in love all over again. Don't be hasty with eBay children, or you'll have so many regrets of lost vintage, like me!
Look 2: Floral clash I couldn't resist shopping a little bit for this challenge. This floral shift was an absolute steal in the River Island sale, and must be one of the best bargains I've picked up in there - just £20! I always seem to have success in their sales, and this shift dress is so "me". I really like these brogues with bare legs, my friend at work commented they make my legs look really long - which obvs is a bonus!
Look 3: Casual weekender Last but by no means least, here's my work-ready look with my favourite maroon trousers from H&M. They're slouchy and high waisted, but slightly cropped too, which makes them lovely for summer days. This might be my favourite of the three looks - it's nothing groundbreaking fash-wise, but it reflects the reality of a PR job, perfect for running around, juggling a million jobs while feeling comfy and stylish at it.
So here's my entry for the #ColourMeHappy challenge. I could have gone all out (pink coat and orange dress, anyone?) but I think this is just colourful enough. How would you style these accessories up?
