Date night | Tame Impala

When you live with your other half, no matter how much they make you smile it's easy to fall into a routine and forget how to "hang out". God that sounds depressing doesn't it? I don't mean that we all turn into old married couples but date night has become a regular thang. This week, we went to watch Tame Impala at Rock City and it took me back to those days when we used to travel across the country to see gigs together - those butterfly moments sat on a train waiting to pull up into a city you don't know but you're excited to see a certain face waiting for you... If nostalgia doesn't ignite romance I don't know what does!

Also, Tame Impala were bloody brilliant! It was all psychedelic and dreamy and weed-induced (srsly, never seen so many people get kicked out from lighting up indoors) but they put on a great show. They've always been more Liam's sort of music than mine, but I was pleasantly surprised and they were MUCH better than when we caught them on the Glastonbury Pyramid stage back in '11.

If you've never listened to them, press play and brace yourself.

What are you guys listening to at the moment? I'm swapping between Iggy Azalea (SO fierce at Wireless) and if I say it very quietly I'll admit that the new Rita Ora song has me singing along in the car every time. You know the one.

  1. Date nights are the best! And your right, nostalgia definitely ignites romance!

  2. Fab photos. I always struggle to take good gig ones. I'm never listening to anything new, stuck in 2005 ;) xx

  3. Ah yeah love these buys, proper good stuff! Will look out for convertibles for you.

  4. Great pics. I really like Tame Impala. I saw them at Reading last year which I really enjoyed. I was excited about seeing them supporting the Arctic Monkeys in May but I was so squished at that point that I didn't really enjoy it :(
