Fashion is a fickle business. As soon as we pack our knitwear away and load up on suncream, it suprises us with a sneak preview of the season ahead and, inevitably, we're wishing our lives away. Next is always
very, very good bad for that, and this year is no different. AW14 promises jewel tones, frocks and trainers (yes!) and a delicious mix of festive textures. Roll on Christmas...
As usual I took hundreds of photos at the catwalk show (front row ftw!) but this is just a selection of what I'm most excited about. We're marketed into believing Winter is a season of parties, whereas in my household it's more a season of food and family. With added sequins.
I LOVED the orange and red hues - that coat has my name on it - and shiny, mannish shoes always make me squee. The trainers 'n' mini skirt combination really surprised me, despite living like this for a good few months it's always good to see a trend continue. Lastly, metallics always make an appearance in the colder months and at this show it was no different. The cuts were incredibly relaxed and fuss free - easy glamour.
Next gets a big fat thumbs up from me. Not only do they have lovely pieces, their stylists are just spot on with their previews too, so I'll certainly be drawing inspiration from this. Thanks Next!
