OOTD | Exploring the wolds

Cornfields

This weekend has felt like a mini holiday, it has been wonderful! I went to meet Liam's friends from work for the first time at a summer garden party. Lorne lives in the heart of the Lincolnshire Wolds, which for those of you not familiar with the Midlands, is one of the most remote parts of the county, and surprisingly hilly!

I've heard lots of people poo poo Lincolnshire, but I grew up not so far away so I've got some fond memories of living in the countryside. My mum used to say "Only boring people get bored", so it was never a case of being allowed to feel sorry for yourself. I think, actually, living out in the sticks makes you more creative!

On the way to the party we stumbled across this view and well, we had to stop. I’ve got ridiculous hayfever this year but couldn’t resist taking some quick photographs. It’s not every day you get such a vista.

Isn’t it gorgeous?! It’s yet another reason why I love living so close to places like this, even if I can’t have a dog yet.

I got lots of compliments about this dress ‘n’ shirt combo! I was sent this gorgeous floral ditsy shirt from the prestigious tailors Hawes & Curtis, and at first I was a little bit unsure of how to style it. It’s too nice to wear just with jeans, but with block colours looked too formal for my little blog. In the end, I hung it up by accident next to my new summer dress from New Look and I thought it kinda goes. It’s a nice clash, surprise surprise!

I hope you guys all had a lovely weekend in the sunshine? I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – plan loads of stuff and make those memories, because this weather doesn’t last for ever. Only 143 days until Christmas, after all.

  2. The shirt and dress look like they were made for each other.
The view is incredible. I'm lucky enough to live in a fairly small town so I just have to make the short walk outside of my town for great views. Too bad traffic kind of ruins it!

  8. I think this is one of my favourite colour combos that I have seen! I love the countryside and I love the way you mum thinks. It's true only boring people get bored! So so true. There's nothing like summer in the countryside with nature and walking and just enjoying the noise of nature.
