Aaah the british seaside. You know the one - not quite glorious sunshine, a tad too windy and the sea which looks muddier than your other half's post-Rugby bathwater. Despite all this, I think the East coast gets a bad rep - arcade machines might not be your thing but I've been to Mablethorpe lots this summer and it is always just the best day trip.

I went on Sunday with these three wonderful people, and it was bloomin' lovely. I'm lucky to only be an hour and a half away from the coast, and have a choice between Mablethorpe and Cleethorpes. On Sunday, we had a little paddle in the sea (avoiding the jellyfish ftw), paid for an overpriced 99 cone, and of course, had a fish 'n' chip lunch.
If you're not going on a week long holiday this year, why not get on Google maps and travel to the coast for a day or two? If it's anything like where we were, beaches often have camp sites really close by so you can make it as cheap as you like. Hurray for summer!
