When you are invited to a luxury hotel suite by one of your favourite brands, for pampering, a preview and to be painted, you know you're in for a treat. The Next collections have always impressed me and each season I head down to London to nod and approve and swoon over their wearable take on the catwalk trends. And eat lots of yummy mini food too, natch.
Photo credit to Katy for the above shot, thanks doll!
This season, Next stole my heart with tough buckle boots, shimmering costume jewellery and plenty of lace. Autumn essentials, really. What made it even more special was their detour from the norm, in the way of these incredible colourful courts. I struggled to pick a favourite (though orange always steals my heart), but with a chunky heel and a variety of prints, I'll happily take the whole set, thanks!
I was fortunate enough to be front row at their catwalk launch last month, so it was a great opportunity to be up close and personal with those pieces I admired from afar. Getting to feel and touch the fabircs really cannot be beaten. We are a generation of internet shoppers but I find myself so regularly disappointed by the quality of fast fashion. I work hard for my pennies, and that last thing I would want is a hole in the crotch of leggings, two days in (Boohoo, I'm looking at you).
Next win for me, again and again. I'm not paid to say this and I certainly wouldn't have attended almost 10 events in the past two years if I wasn't a true fan. My jersey joggers which got a lot of love a couple of ootds ago are this season, and I know they're classic enough to see me through until next year too.
Thanks Next, for reaffirming my love of the high street. It pays to shop more wisely, with a store that's got your back.
